Description
WordPress Plugin WP-Footnotes is prone to multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. The plugin also insecurely exposes administrative functionality. An attacker may leverage these issues to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks. WordPress Plugin WP-Footnotes version 2.2 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Remediation
Update to plugin version 3.0 or latest
