Configuring Excluded Hours
There are times when you do not want to scan a target. For example, you might want to scan your site during your workday so you can monitor the site while it is being scanned. Alternatively, you may want to scan your web application during the weekend when nobody is using it.
Excluded hours allow you to configure the times when Acunetix should not perform scans. The default excluded hours profile is assigned to all new Targets; however, this can be changed to a different excluded hours profile for each Target. You can also create a custom excluded hours profile if needed.
This article explains how to configure the excluded hours setting and how to create a custom excluded hours profile.
IMPORTANT: Any scans running at the start or during an excluded hour will be stopped. Any scans scheduled to start during an excluded hour will be delayed until after the excluded hour period. |
How to configure excluded hours
- Log in to Acunetix.
- Select Excluded Hours from the side menu.
- Click the checkbox next to the preset excluded hours profiles to enable them. You can choose from:
- Allows scans from 9am to 5pm: Scans can only run between 9am and 5pm every day of the week.
- Except working hours: Scans will not run between 9am and 5pm every day of the week.
- No weekends: Scans will not run at weekends (Saturday and Sunday by default).
TIP: Click the name of an excluded hours profile to edit the profile name, time zone, and exclusion settings. Click Save when you have finished editing the profile. |
How to create a custom excluded hours profile
- Log in to Acunetix.
- Select Excluded Hours from the side menu.
- Click Add New Profile.
- Enter a name for the profile and set the time zone.
- Click each square in the timetable that you want to set as excluded hours. In the example below, we have excluded scanning every day from 6am to 9am. No scans will run during this time. Click a square again to change it to not excluded hours (white).
- Click Save. Your custom excluded hours profile is added to the list of profiles on the left.
