Installing the Acunetix standalone Login Sequence Recorder

The Acunetix standalone Login Sequence Recorder (LSR) allows you to record a login sequence or business logic (BLR) to use with an internal agent. This is useful in situations where you need to use an internal agent to scan an internal target and the target contains a login mechanism.

This guide shows you how to install the Acunetix standalone Login Sequence Recorder on Windows and Linux and how to open it in BLR mode.

IMPORTANT: The standalone LSR / BLR needs to be installed on a machine in the same network as the target.

How to install the Acunetix standalone LSR on Windows

  1. Click the link below to download the acunetix_lsr_setup.exe file: 

  1. Run the installer.

  1. When installation is complete, you will have a program group with two items; one to record a login sequence and another to edit a login sequence.

How to open the Acunetix LSR in BLR Mode on Windows

  1. Follow the instructions above to install the Acunetix standalone LSR.
  2. Open Command Prompt and change to the Acunetix LSR directory.
  3. Run the following command: node lsr logic

The Acunetix LSR will now run in BLR mode.

How to install the Acunetix standalone LSR on Linux

  1. Click the link below to download the acunetix_lsr.tar.gz file: 
  1. Extract the files.

  1. Open Terminal from the newly created folder.

  1. Run the following command to open the LSR Recorder: ./node lsr

How to open the Acunetix LSR in BLR Mode on Linux

  1. Follow the instructions above to install the Acunetix standalone LSR.
  2. After opening Terminal, run the following command to open the BLR Recorder: ./node lsr logic

The Acunetix LSR will now run in BLR mode.
