Enabling AcuSensor
AcuSensor allows the Acunetix scanner to gather more information from your PHP, .NET, Java, or Node.js web applications. This improves the scan results by identifying all the pages on your website, increasing the information about detected vulnerabilities, and decreasing false positives.
NOTE: To use AcuSensor, you need to enable and install it for each Target before running a scan. For information about downloading and installing AcuSensor, refer to Introduction to deploying AcuSensor. |
This article explains how to enable AcuSensor for a Target so that you can then download and install AcuSensor to use when scanning your target web application. This article also explains how to reset the AcuSensor token for a particular target.
How to enable AcuSensor for a Target
- Navigate to the Target Settings page for the target you wish to scan using AcuSensor.
- Scroll down to the AcuSensor section and click the AcuSensor toggle (enabled is purple).
You are now able to download and install AcuSensor for the selected target. Ensure you download the correct sensor according to the web technology used on your site. For detailed instructions, refer to the relevant documentation:

How to reset the AcuSensor Token
The AcuSensor token is similar to a unique key or password. It is used for secure communication between the Acunetix Scanner and the AcuSensor Agent.
If you wish to change the token for an AcuSensor Agent (for example, to invalidate an old token or to use the same AcuSensor Agent file for more than one target), follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the Target Settings page for the target that you want to change the AcuSensor token.
- Scroll down to the AcuSensor section and enable the AcuSensor toggle (enabled is purple).
- In the AcuSensor Token panel, click Reset for Target.
- Re-deploy the AcuSensor Agent to your target web application using the new token before starting a new scan.
