Generating reports

Acunetix offers many different types of reports that can be generated from the Targets, Scans, Vulnerabilities, and Reports pages. Regardless of which page you generate them from, all generated reports are listed on the Reports page. From the Reports page, you can download your generated reports in PDF or HTML format, or choose to delete a report. You will also receive an email with a link to download the completed report.

On the Reports page, your generated reports fall into the following report type categories:

  • All Vulnerabilities report: a report on all the vulnerabilities detected on all the Targets configured in Acunetix
  • Scan Report: a report on the vulnerabilities detected by one or multiple scans.
  • Target Report: a report on all the vulnerabilities detected on one or multiple Targets taking into consideration all the scans done on the target(s).

The contents of each of these report types will also depend on the report template that is chosen from the list of standard and compliance reports. For more information about these report options, refer to Types of Acunetix Reports.

This guide shows you how to generate reports in Acunetix, including a scan comparison report to compare two scans on the same Target.

How to generate an All Vulnerabilities Report

  1. Select Reports from the Acunetix menu.
  2. Click New Report.
  3. Select All Vulnerabilities, then choose a report template from the list of standard and compliance reports.

  1. You are now taken to the Reports page. The report may take a few seconds to generate. Click PDF or HTML, depending on your preference, to download the report.
  2. Open the report from your default downloads location.

How to generate a Scan Report

  1. Select Scans from the Acunetix menu.
  2. Use the checkboxes to select a scan to generate a Scan Report for. You can generate a Scan Report for Failed, Completed, or Aborted scans.
  3. Click Generate Report.

  1. Select your desired report template from the list of standard and compliance reports.
  2. You are now taken to the Reports page. The report may take a few seconds to generate. Click PDF or HTML, depending on your preference, to download the report.
  3. Open the report from your default downloads location.

How to generate a Scan Comparison Report

  1. Select Scans from the Acunetix menu.
  2. Use the checkboxes to select two scans of the same target.
  3. Click Compare Scans.

  1. You are now taken to the Reports page. The report may take a few seconds to generate. Click PDF or HTML, depending on your preference, to download the report.
  2. Open the report from your default downloads location.

How to generate a Target Report

NOTE: In order to generate a Target Report you need to have already run a scan on the Target.

  1. Select Targets or Vulnerabilities from the Acunetix menu.
  2. Use the checkboxes to select a Target or Vulnerability to generate a Target Report for.
  3. Click Generate Report.
  4. Select your desired report template from the list of standard and compliance reports.

  1. After choosing to generate the report, you are taken to the Reports page. The report may take a few seconds to generate. Click PDF or HTML, depending on your preference, to download the report.
  2. Open the report from your default downloads location.
